I would like to know how to add a send effect in a MIDI track. I am using a VST instrument(grand piano) and i'm contolling it with my Triton LE. I've done this before but can't do it now for some reason. I want to add reverb to my piano part. How do I do this?

You need to add it to the audio output of the VSTi (under VST instruments in inspector)

I don't understand. In the inspector, I see either a audio 01 or MIDI 01. On the audio one, there is a sends where I can add it. Not in the MIDI inspector view though.

okay I can add the reverb under master effects butnot sends.

Under the VST instruments panel on the inspector paine (the main one), when you add a VSTi, it adds audio outputs under the VST instruments group, click on one of those tracks (some have multiple outputs) and THOSE tracks behave just like audio tracks with sends, inserts, and so forth

hmm I don't understand what you are talking about. I have cubase LE...maybe this is another version you are talking about?

okay found it. I had to go under the device menu and then click on show panel. Then a little box appears where there are VST master effects, vst inputs, vst sends and all that stuff.

BAH thought that would work but apparantly not. The onlywhy i'm able to add effects is through the master effects

success! on the first of the four VST outputs I pressed that E button which loaded the VST channel settings. Then I just added the effect.

Yes, that's it! Glad you found it. Just remember when dealing with VST instruments there are two tracks that you have to concern yourself with. One is the MIDI track that just sends out the MIDI information to the VSTi to play certain notes, tweak certain MIDI parameters, etc. You can't add audio effects such as reverb, delay, compression, EQ, etc to this track because there is no audio there. The second "track" you need to concern yourself with is the VSTi output channels. These get created automatically when you load a VSTi. They're usually added in the VST Instruments Folder track, and you may need to expand it by clicking on the little "+" in the lower left hand corner of the Folder track to view all the VSTi outputs. Here you can add all the usual VST FX as well as apply volume, pan and other automation as you would with regular audio tracks.
