The soundcraft mixer has 16 inputs and i am going to be running each of its 16 direct outputs directly into 2 ADAT Xl's. If I do this, how will i be able to run the Adat outputs to the mixer in order to listen to playback? Like when i record something, then i want to listen to it, how would i have to connect the outputs to the mixer? If it isn't possible to connect all the direct outputs on the mixer into the adat and then the adats outputs to the mixer, is there an alternative way to hook things up. I could use the 4-bus of the mixer, and just run those to the adat. I am not really familiar with this kind of hook up though, so if that is the way i need to go, could you please let me know how i would do that, indepth. Thanks a lot for anyone who can help me. I appreciate it.

What's an ADAT XL? Did you mean XT??

Anyways, with only 16 inputs, you can't do it.... for recording consoles, you need at least double the number of tracks you want to multitrack with for you to monitor/overdub (without repatching all the time)..........
