HI All
I was wondering how someone would go about recording with a single XT20 and a PC with a soundcard(lexicon core 2) featuring an ADAT interface. I am not as dumb as I sound. At least I hope not.
Anyway, this is my scenario: I live in an apartment in which I cannot record drums and guitar tracks due to the noise. I, therefore, need to be able to record at least eight tracks at my drummer's house. I have carried my pc, but I won't do that again. I was hoping to be able to record eight tracks to ADAT, dump them to pc to mix/edit. I can handle all of this so far, but what if I want to record another guitar track or some percussion? I thought about mixing that previous tracks down to one or two and sending those back to the ADAT. So now I can go record more tracks, right? What I don't get is how I would dump the new and mixed down tracks back into the pc and stay on time with the first, non-mixed tracks. Does that make any sense? I do not want to keep the first tracks mixed down but I do want to sync up the new tracks with the first eight I recorded.
Please help, I am very lost.

I will probably use different combinations of tracks, but ultimatly I want to sync the ADAT with my computer and have two tapes of ADAT tracks.I am in the process of trying out the poor man's way now. If you know where to find an inexpensive sync box let me know. The poor man's way is hard!
