adat edit/DA-88

can the adat edit card and software be used to transfer track from the tascam units? or is it only for alesis?

It won't work with Tascam stuff. Totally different format.
 
do the tascams have lightpipe in and out? if so, cant i just use that to clock?

While lightpipe can be used for S/PDIF transfers, the only other use for it is for the proprietary ADAT format. Alesis and Tascam's TDIF formats do not interchange.

You will not be able to use the ADAT edit with anything other than something that has ADAT lightpipe. I have never heard of the DA-88 offering that. Sorry.

aight, thanks guys! i have a client that is recording a live concert on 4 DA88's, what would be the best way to transfer these into my computer for editing?
 
A MOTU 2408 will handle three DA-88s at a time.
