hey folks,

well, i sold all my blackface adats a while back to get into daw. did that with my celeron 333 and the gadget labs 8/24 and samplitude. works fine. now i'm given three projects which are adat based. meanining i either have to lay down tracks to a stereo reduction track on adat or i have to record remotely via adat. not my choice, but... anyway, all the adat stuff i'm fine with. but i'm in a quandry on what's the best way to marry the adat and pc. i've heard horror stories about the adat edit card/software but haven't actually used it. i can't really afford to buy a card just to try it. does anyone have any hands on experience doing this? it's very important for me to be able to keep synch when transferring tracks back and forth. not that i'll be tracking on both formats simultaneously, but that i'll be tracking/editing on pc and when i transfer back to adat i need to have time code on the adat tape.

i don't mind adats and like their portability. their kinda like microsoft, they ain't that great but everyone has
'em :-(
