adaptec soundboard +riptide mixer

Well I finally getting into mixing down to digital with my new HP pavilion computer which has adatec soundcard + riptide mixer. I was able to take my tascam 488 tracks and drop it to a wav file and than was able to burn a cd, but I would like to get a software that will give me more control with the wav file, like eq,fx....What is a good software that doesn't cost alot of cash and would be compatible with the apatec soundboard.

Once your sounds are captured as .wav files, the soundcard is out of the loop. Modified files play back the same way unmodified files do. For a decent .wav editor on the cheap look at Sound Forge XP, Cool Edit and Gold Wave.
