Hi? I'm about to dive into getting my first set of monitors (been mixing on PA Speakers and house speakers thus far). My budget has the Behringer 2031's looking as though they are the route i'm gonna take. My question is... I have a Pyramid PA600X Power Amp ( http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=pyrpa600x ) now powering my entire setup (turntable mixer to PA Speakers, out my audio interface into PA Speakers, and the vocal booth headphones) would it be ok for me to have this also power the Behringer Passive Monitors? The actives are a little more expensive and I can get them, but why spend extra when I have an amp already powerful enough to power them? The amp is 600 watts, more than enough power. I've heard about the Haflers being the way to go but I'm asking for someone who has knowledge in this field. Will they blow the monitors? If the current power amp isn't the way to go, I'll just wait and get the Active version of the monitors. thx in advance

if you plan on having several reference speaker sets Passive is much cheaper.

i think technically actives are matched better, an they have their pro-active articles. :p Per Guitar Center, passives are dying out! its almost all actives!

which again may be an opportunity to get some dynamite deals on passives...

my two cents...get something better than you think you can afford, in 6months to a year you'll be glad you did.
