active bass mics to passive

Hi

I have Schecter studio-8 bass. It have active mic or active preamp. I would be interested turn my bass to passive. Is it hard? What I need to do to my bass?

From what I can find, it has EMG HZs, which are passive, followed by an active preamp. So toss out the preamp and replace with the usual passive components.

Or keep the active preamp, add the passive bit and make as switch to choose between the two.

You would want to do it so you can easilly swtich back to active if you don"t like the passive sound , I turned my bass from passive to active and never looked back.....

I"m not sure how your is wired but some basses that have the active preamp also have an active tone controll in which case it would be a much bigger job to remove ......
