Hi All:
I have managed to salvage from the dumpster a digi 002, and would like to use this as a basis for a basic home recording studio. Now, knowing very little about this field, but being an electronics engineer with a 16 year old muso son who also might be interested in becoming an audio engineer, I'd like to setup a home recording studio. Note that I have a very limited budget for this, and also very limited starting knowledge, so I guess my first question would be, where to now?
What additional equipment do I need in the first instance, apart from the digi002 and a macbook that I already have, in order to record at a semi-decent quality? Note that I don't even have any cables or microphones, so suggestions starting along those lines and working upwards would be most welcome!
In case it's important, my son plays guitar and also sings. I also have a step-daughter not living with us with whom he jams. She sings and can play keyboard, but doesn't have a keyboard.
Cheers,
Matt.
