Acoustic tibute to an amazing woman.

Hey all. I wrote, performed and recorded this acoustic song Monday night. It is a tribute to my grandmother/godmother who has been battling cancer for the past year. After putting up a fearless fight, cancer is finally getting the best of her. I was able to see and speak with her Sunday night at the hospital. After her last grandchild visited her on Monday, she became painfully ill Tuesday morning and has been sedated pretty much ever since. Unfortunately, she was not able to consciously respond to the song when I played it for her Tuesday afternoon, but I hope it reached her subconscious to sooth her. She was a strong woman and one of my most loyal supporters. It's crushing to lose her, but I hope she achieves peace.

Eh. I ramble.

The song comprises acoustic rhythm guitar with a melody acoustic guitar. Any comments are welcome.

Nice tune, Lopp. A very pretty 2 or 3 guitar piece. How did you play this for your grandma in the hospital?

Your song reminded me of just what it is I love about music. It expresses everything, and can be inspired by every emotion: playfullnes, anger, rudeness, kindness, joy, and sorrow.

Just 9 months ago my wife's father was killed in a trucking accident. It was a great shock to the family (he was only 53), and we are still sorting through the residual emotions. I wrote him a song too. Funny, it's completely different from yours. Same basic emotion, two totally different expressions.

Man, I love music.

We set up a CD diskman with desktop PC speakers. It worked out great because it allowed us to play other CDs. Music really warmed up the hospital environment.

I can't wait to check out your song to hear your different expressions. (On a dial-up right now, I might have to wait until tomorrow at work). You're right about music. I hadn't written or recorded anything new for a while. Probably because of a lack of inspiration. Suddenly, I layed this one down in one night. It was especially inspired because I have never written anything on acoustic before. ;)

Update: My grandmother passed away last night. She is now free from her pain. Also, everyone who had come to the hospital and heard the song loved it and usually shed a tear listening to it. I've heard we may incorporate it into the funeral service.
