hi

i think this is ready to be sent off to the record companies. what do you think? it's a simple acoustic song with guitar and two voices. i recorded it with cakewalk home studio and remixed in sonar. it's pretty much live, but the harmonies are over-dubbed.

please feel free to feedback.
thanks

I love this type of music.
The playing and singing was very good.

That being said on this sytem at work it sounds very muffled and cloudy , particularly for a simple acoustic track. I hope it is my system.

Let others give their opinions.

What was your basic signal chain going into the computer?

Tom

Nice tune...good recording...
I would have liked the vox harmony to come in sooner...as a matter of fact....
you should get to the chorus a lot sooner if you want to pitch this tune...
nice tune though man...
I would add at least a bass line to it..
Great performance...good playing and great vox...

As far as record companies go....best of luck...if it is unsolicited....it will end up in the trash unlistened to with the other hundreds of tunes they receive daily.

Take it easy,
Joe

I'm listening through my studio monitors and I concur with tmix's comment that "on this system at work it sounds very muffled and cloudy, particularly for a simple acoustic track."

Perhaps it's the encoding to MP3?

All in all, the performance is excellent.

Awsome

Hi there. I just downloaded this man, its sounds wonderful. When the chorus comes in with the harmony, its great. I really enjoyed it

Nice

Erland

Ps. i think the link you have gos straight to a low quality stream. The higher stream of the mp3 is solid

Sure - I'd send it in - good job !

Minor Details:
Taboo - the acoustic guitar (piezo direct ?) pokes me in the eye when it's plucked around the 10K-14K range. A multiband, just on the acoustic track, up there might fix it. Same with some of the slap - nice slap most of the time just a little too much detail in that same freq range.

I knew I wish it was you - I can't tell how big a deal this is (I'm in Senn HD600 phones - speakers are packed)...the first harmony is great, my mind wants that same detail and quality of harmony tracking on all the other occurances. I think it might be a performance issue though so I don't know if it's anything to worry about.

Those guys sound real good together! The production sounds real good too!

Cool song. The hi-fi version definitely sounds better than the one I listened to at first! Something bothered me about the reverb on the vocals though...I guess it just sounded like it was a bit too much, at least on my speakers anyway. But it's a great song!

thanks

hi guys

thanks for your feedback. glad that you like the song. i've got loads more like this, and will be posting them soon to the website.

we're using every trick we can to get noticed by the record companies, including a few live performances in london - come and see us if you can! details on the website.

the guitar on taboo is a direct line in from the acoustic pick-up. i was going to change it, but i got used to the sound! i'll try making those eq changes you suggested. thanks.

for those of you who found it a little muddy, please use the "hi-fi" option. i'll change the web-site so it automatically uses this, if i can.

thanks again

Great tune and performance all the way around. On the recording, I can't stand to hear acoustic guitar "plugged in". All acoustic pick ups make my skin crawl. For live work they're indespensible but for recording...........I suppose it's a matter of taste. Voal sound pretty good to me.

You guys are really good. The mix is great. I'd send it in to the bigwigs, man!

I went to the mp3 page, and then I wasn't sure what song you were asking us to review. So I downloaded I knew it was you.

Very nice song. The higher guitar sounds good, but the guitar playing the lower part is a bit boomy. Got some frequencies jumping out that need a little taming.

Lead vocal has a nice voice.

Good luck with getting signed.
