I have a bunch of foam left... but I dont just want to past it up on all the walls without knowing where it would be best....anyone got any advice?

I record hip hop music in a closet that is 8 ft wide and 2 ft deep

Over your head would be a good idea.

In all honesty, for vocal work, you need something thicker that will reach down deeper than foam for at least some of the coverage. Male voice can go down into the 200's easily - the foam just won't deal with that.

I have a few bass absorbers.. should I position those in the corners where the walls and the ceiling meet?

You can try that but I'd also do the wall you face with it provided it's broadband and not a faced absorber that won't also do higher frequencies
