Nice, Kind of Zep meets Clannad

Acoustic guitars sound great, Vocals sit really well and are very well done.

Only thing I would say was it seemed bass light. A couple of times I thought I could a hint of a bass but most of the time it wasn't there. Even in the solo (which was well done) the bass for me was barely there

Well done though, makes me wish i could play worth a damn

Cool! I like the acoustic riff :) Yeah, I think the bass could come up a bit if you want! It kinda fades in and out. Nice vox too!

nice nice track .. great vocals, makes me want to listen to more from this band :)

love how the acoustic sounds

When I had this track playing I was just surfing the internet, and then I got kinda sad when it stopped.

So good job :)

LOL
that's good, can i steal that?

thanks for listening man, glad you liked it....

bass is light?
hm, what kind of playback system are you working with? it's good to know how my mixes translates across different monitoring platforms....

the bass is strictly supporting filling out the low end here, not a featured instrument..
but on my monitor system, it's plenty loud.
here's the frequency graph of the song...
you can see that the low end is very well represented, especially at 84 hz and 120 hz

Listened on a laptop with earbuds and then listened again through my KRK monitors
Bass was less missing on monitors so maybe it's that you don't have much in the basses upper harmonics that allow it to cut through on "Bass Challenged" playback systems

Sounds good, nice acoustic sounds and playing. Mix is very listenable to me. I like the detuned/ loose sound of the acoustics. I have 2 guitars by seagull and I wouldnt trade them for anything. Really nothing to add other than I enjoyed the tune. : )

Enjoyed the song. On headphones, so no comments on the mix.

You guys always put out quality stuff.

small fee is do-able.

bass challenged systems....
yep, this is the learning curve for mixing, and of course, how it translates thru mastering

thanks for your reply

thanks for listening, and adding your playback system info

i like the seagull for sure... but the taylor just knocks it out the park.
my problem with the taylor is that it has too much top end zing, and TONS of low end.
the seagull fills that midrange.

thanks man, appreciate the listen and comment

Great guitar riff. listening on monitors in a fairly treated room, i could use more of the bass. i can hear it in spots better than others. Very cool effect etc. reverb dates it for me, but I'm sure thats what you were going after. Great job.

thanks for listening!

i often wonder, what kind of reverb one could use, that would NOT date....?

i mean, i recorded this in december of this last year, so it's really not that old.........!

heheh

i mean, when did reverb really go out of favor?

I don't think reverb is out of favor. It's been used differently and with different tools over time, but not out of favor. You have to admit though at on particular time in pop history(80's) reverb was used much more as an effect than a sense of space. The music of that period has a certain sound and the particular use of reverb was a part of it. I was just reminded of that while listening to your tune. That said, it's your music. If your reverb types, parameters, and levels are set to what you hear as the artist, producer and mixer than its perfect. The beauty is everybody being different.

elton

that 80's reverb got on my nerve, even back in the 80's!

LOL

honestly, i cannot hear any part of the reverb treatment that i used on this, that reminds me even remotely of the 80's verb treatments.

Somehow I posted this in the wrong thread
