Acoustic instrumental

While searching thru my drum loops for a new song I'm working on, I came across this loop...my 14 month old daughter really was digging it..she bobs her head and kinda dances around every time I played it, so, I decided to put some music to it...I used my Variax acoustic modeling and some virtual open tunings thru the Variax's workbench software...She seems to really enjoy it so I named the song for her.

Low frequencies are a bit bold in the bass sound.
Too bold.
Talking about the 40-60hz stuff.

The bass also has audible string sqwak. Perhaps clean that up.

Now im sure this is a strictly opinion thing, but the drums sound so roomy, and thinny. Theres no beef or punch in the sound.
But that may be that Bonham thing i hate, that every body seems to love.
So im probably just misunderstanding the concept.

Anyways.....Bass. Yeah.

Nice tune....does seem to be a bit boomy in the low end as Chris stated. That tends to get in the way of some of the other sounds.
The song has a Zep vibe, so the drums fit in that respect.

Sounds like another cool one man. Clean her up a smidge, and you got it.

Pretty cool little tune. I agree on the 'boominess'. Sounds like theres a lot going on, and the boominess does sort of take away from the fun stuff. Nice little ditty though.

I like it. Sounds like a Celtic fusion meets dobro thing. Watch the intonation on the high notes of the bass at 1:20.

Playing is smooth and cool as always....

I can't comment on the mix because I'm listening on my laptop speakers.

Any ideas for some vocals? - maybe about Emily playing with her toys or the joys of youth....or something light. It's certainly danceable.

I think I did overdo it a bit trying to get a big kick/bass guitar sound under the acoustics...I am one of those who is into the big Bonham drum vibe....I will try and back down the 60hz freq and below a bit and cut down on the verb. Thanks for the feedback!

Hey Dog, thanks for listening....low end is noted...cool ya get a Zep vibe from this..I really like Jimmy Page's/John Paul Jones acoustic style with different tunings and styles...definitely a inspiration....it's hard to get a true acoustic vibe with this variax as it's just like playing a electric...I kinda miss the heavier strings and feel of an acoustic...but it' so easy for recording!

Hi Tim...I noticed that bass flub after I mixed it down ...gonna retrack the bass 'cause I'm not totally happy with the performance, and have some new ideas....glad ya liked it!

Thanks idol! Haven't really thought of any lyrics yet for this...if I wrote any, it would probably be.."why don't you sleep thru the night?" or something like that....She is definitely a inspiration to me, as is my 5 year old son...never a dull moment in my house !

This has Led Zepelin wrtien all over it.

I mean this in a good way, very cool, The way you have layered the guitars here are just amazing, I think the drums could have been we bit tighter, less ambient that is.
