Here is one I have been working on for a bit....I used my variax for all the guitar tracks.Been messin around with the virtual alternate tuinings and did this in a open c6 tuining.I think it has a kinda eastern feel to it.Playin is a bit choppy still...I did it finger style, and the variax plays like a strat, even though it sounds like an acoustic in these settings and its a bit "looser" then a real acoustic would be.

Bombay Sunrise

Trance-like. The title fits just right... sounds like I'm in India. The guitar tone is just a little sitar-like and that fits too. The percussion is well done, though the cymbals might be a little hot. I like the verb on the hand drums... makes them sound real.

Thanks for listening Tim...I mixed this last night, and after listening today,I'm not to happy with the eq/sound of it...seems to ne kinda mid heavy or something....I have a real bad head cold right now,and I think that makes it hard for me to hear well...it's like a blanket is over my head or something.Anyways,I should be able to get a better mix in a couple of days...
I am also going to add a real sitar to the track...(well actually a variax modeled one,but thats the best I can do).
Thanks again for the feedback!

Very cool sounding. Very pretty. I agree with Tim, the tone fits very well. Nice playing all around. Great vibe. I enjoyed this very much.

Hey nice playing! This is great to listen to.
The percussion is well done too, adds a lot to the song.
The overall eastern feel is cool.
I agree about the heavy mid sounds, it's rattling/distorting my speakers somewhat throughout the whole song. Maybe lowering the 250-500Hz range would help that out.

Nice track ;)

Well played - that variax has a nice acoustic/eastern sound. Good percussion as well. Nice job.

Lovely song. Although the downloaded mp3 on my Winamp player says "Rolling Stones Cover" I'm not sure why? The guitar sounds great, I listened to this twice :)

Dogman, Snakedog, ido1957, Dolphin_Babe - Thanks for listening guys!I'm gonna address the EQ issues on my remix of this..also going to add some Sitar and replace the bongos/congas with tabala drums to maybe give it a bit more of a Indian type vibe!

Nice playing. It does have a nice sitar flavor to it. Thanks for sharing. :D

cool stuff variax!!, maybe the tablas will make it more like an India feel.
I like the kick in therre , but it seems lonely, or maybe it could be softer?
Subjective opnion of course. ;) How about the cymbals to be more swelling, there kinda distracting now.

Beautiful peice.

cmhansen - Thanks!Gonna try and lay down a real sitar track on this tonight,Thanks for checking it out.

Tonio - Agree about the cymbals,I like the swells, but not the crashes.Gonna get rid of most of the crashes...maybe go for a "less is more" type thing...which is tough for me as I tend to clutter things up a bit  ...thanks for your feedback!

I know what you mean, it's always hard for me to not add all kinds of extra stuff to a song. Even when I try to strip down a song it still ends up having a lot going on...

although I've resisted synth and sound effects for a few songs... I'm sure they'll be back soon though

Its very good. I hear an airy, soft female voice singing lead vocal on this in the vein of enya.

nice.

Thanks for the compliment!......It would sound cool with that type of vocal,if I only knew someone who could pull it off!

Early Morning For Sure

Nice Groove.

Did you piezo the guitar? Mic it? Both?

I'd like to hear the Egyptian Pharoahs play a little bit o' traditional Syrian style orchestration to this. They played with Zeppelin when I saw the good ol' Zep.

Thanks man...yeah,I really dig Page's acoustic playing alot and that "un-ledded" dvd is definitely a big influence! The Line 6 Variax guitar uses piezo pickups for the modeling of all the diffrent acoustic/electric guitars it has...I used this into a Pod xtlive and from there into my PC(thru a Ark 24 card)

Thanks for checking it out!

Sounds excellent Mr. Axman!
All the midrange muddiness I heard on my speakers before is gone
The sitar & percussion additions sound cool too. Overall it definitely gives me the acoustic Zeppelin vibe. Love that stuff :D

I'll still give that queen cover a shot sometime soon, have some fun with it and probably trash it. I'll let you know :D
