is it necessary to record it in a dead room?when i try it i always hear the sound of the room and it sounds terrible

just record it direct in any room you want - as long as there arent birds or dogs barking in the background, etc.

a dead room is important if you wanna add artifical reverb later on

on professional recordings the acoustic sounds a lot nicer than what im getting with a takamine and akg c4000b. it just seems too far away and not crisp enough

can you explain to me exactly how you're recording your acoustic guitar? where are you placing the mix, what distance, and what preamps are you using the mic with?

the mic is close to the 10th fret and im using a phantom power supply that i got made up
