What's your budget? You say 'gigging', so assume you need an acoustic/electric? There are many choices, so you need to get to a music store and try out a bunch of instruments in your price range. Different necks have different feels, different woods have different sounds, as do different pickup systems. There are different body sizes ..... so many choices!

At 14 you're a gigging musician?

How much money do you want to spend? You should be able to get a professional quality instrument that would suit a gigging musician such as yourself for a couple of grand, I reckon...;)

This is what you do when you're trying out only the poor quality axes....

Nice coinage mjb....:laughings:

Stop picking on my bad typing! :spank: Why did Dvorak(?) put the m and n next to each other and then make my aging eyesight so poor I can't see the difference without leaning into the monitor?

Thanks for all the replies. :) Sorry I should of stated my price range, basically anything under £1000 really, I do quite a few gigs so I will need an electro-acoustic. Anyone played any Stonebridge's before?

My first reply was a little tongue in cheek. I've got the Martin DCX-1E and it sounds great acoustically. Haven't gigged with it, so not sure how the pickup works through a PA. It's well within your price range.
