Acid Pro 7 recording problem

Hi, I was wondering if anyone here has any idea why when trying to record in the acid pro 7 program...sometimes the record button is red and can record...and sometimes...a lot lately...its grey and can't be armed. I have no idea what I did, as far as I know I did nothing to cause this. Would love it if someone could enlighten me to why this is happening. Thanks so much.

Ok I figured out what the problem was. No mike or instrument was plugged into my pc. So I closed Acid, plugged in the mic and the record button was ready to go. I unplugged it and reopened the program and it was all greyed out again. So, you need an input source to arm record. Thank God.
