Hello,

I have acid music on my computer. I was wondering if I can plug my Mixer into my sound card on my computer and use acid music to record my tracks. I have used acid music to make dance mixes but I never have tried to do an live recording.

Thanks for the help.

You betcha. I use ACID for quick and dirty idea sessions, and apparently the only limit to number of tracks is your computer. You'll get better final results in your favorite multi-track program, of course, but ACID isn't bad as a recorder. With the pan and volume envelopes, you can basically have a mixdown worked out graphically, and there's even usable effects (but you know that already). There's no "Punch Ins," at least automatic ones, on the "Live" recorded tracks, though. You have to cut out or mute bad sections of a given instrument or vocal, and record a new track for the patch section(s). Still, it works well.

Try it out, it's fun. I also build percussion tracks in ACID for use in Cakewalk, and I'll usually lay down a rough guitar and/or vocal track in ACID just as a guide to get the percussion bits just where I like them. After I'm done with that, I'll wipe out the guide tracks, and export the ACID .wav file(s) to Cakewalk. It's a great little trick.

Peace.
