Hi guys,

It's been a long time since I've posted. Most of the active users right now won't know me, I've been listening to and enjoying many of you for a while now but, have not posted because I was unable to record myself. I've had some problems and lost everything I owned. I finally have a way to record again and am posting a piece.

"What's Up" jazz solo

This is my first time recording with a mic. First time recording accoustic guitar, I usually play electric, and used to direct line. There is a mistake at 00:28, my hand wanted to go higher on the neck.

I call it a jazz piece but it is really soloing on an accoustic guitar played over the main accoustic part to 4 Non Blondes "What's Up". The drums are just a basic 8 beat, no fills, just my basic click beat. You really can't tell it's "What's Up" it sounds spanish at times.

I think it sounds pretty good as far as the basic mix goes, (it's so simple there's not much to mix) there's 3 tracks, drums, rhythem, and lead.

I don't have much of a system to listen to my mix on, I could use the ears of you guys to tell me if it is alright. Should I use some compression on the lead guitar or just leave the dynamics for flavor? I didn't use anything except for a reverb on the final mix.

Thanks

The Nowhere Radio streaming won't play on my computer. Any way you can activate the download function?

Hmmm, The D/L function is enabled on my computer. I don't see any options to change that.

Me neither

It says 'members only' to download that one.

Your other one downloads fine.

I haven't been listening to anyone's stuff for awhile, but when I saw 'Acoustic jazz' in the main menu, I had to look. One of my favorite genres and one you don't see much of here, unless of course the good doctor decides to get off his ass and do some more...(that's a hint, stawl ;) )

that's a folk/rock rhythm on the guit and drums.

the note choice on the solo sounded like rock.

Thanks, I wasn't sure what genre to call it, my usual style is metal.
