I am having trouble with rhythm in the chordal department and getting something to sound good. I brake up the chord and appregiate it in differnet ways it still seems that i am missing something but getting close. I read a lot of music theory books and composing books.
But they really didn't say that much about rhythms with chords and chordal patterns

Is there any books anyone knows of or a site that focuses on rhythm patterns, how to create them examples and things of that sort?

Thanks

No one has any answers??? Come any one tell me at least some common chordal patterns or send me in the right direction???

That's a really good question. Deep, but good.

I'd suggest taking a harmonic theory class or something along those lines.

The only other suggestion I have is to listen to LOT'S of music. After a while you can train yourself to tune into just the parts you want to hear, to understand how different loping rhythms overlap and work together or cause tension/dissonance/etc.

good question... and you probably wont find any answeres in theory books... composition or orchestration maybe... try to mimic what youve done in your drums... perhaps a brass patch that follows some cymbals type thing... or try a counter melody type idea... the main idea is compare and contrast... good luck... you deserve some rep for this...

I apprecaite the answers i got a couple of books with some patterns coming in the mail. :)
