I own both , I use them both , each one does a wide range of things the other cant, let us know your intended use and it'll be much easier to make a subjective choice.
I use the v-synth for sampling and creating sounds that can be manipulated and played in real time like no other synth can (except maybe
a vsynth xt)

, i use it for movie scoring , soundtrack production , after 18 months of usage I get something different with each evening and each pot of coffee i sit down with it.
Some of my material has sounds in it that attract questions like ... "what did you use to make that noise ?"
It has very usable patches , has a decent sound shaper program to help you create sound from scratch without having to have an in depth knowledge of synthesis ( although that will b needed to get the most out of it ).
Sadley most people will never have the time or patience to actually make the most of this synth. I would say it is very easy to program after some practice. Probably the best live performance synth of all time if you ask me
I use my virus TI and Indigo for much of the EDM i create , has a great selection of patches that make good starting points for sound design , probably has the most amazing ability of any synth for creating huge spacial pad sounds . the TI with the new ver 2.0 software has granular sysnthesis , more fm wavetables and a pretty extensive and usable VST interface. You can lock various parameters and change patches keeping the locked parameters which can make for some really interesting sounds ( if not a little unpredictable ). It has probably the best quality synth action keyboard on the market, better than any korg, roland etc etc by a long way. Its built like a brick shithouse and will last you for years if you look after your gear.
The virus also has the ability to play up to 16 parts at the same time , the v-synth cannot do this. You can split the keyboard and play different patches on the V but you cannt run different arps , sequences and filter settings on each split like you can on the virus.
hope that helps !
