Absynth in SX3

How do i get absynth to work in SX3 with a midi keyboard? i set absynth up as an fx channel, then assigned that fx channel as a send to a midi channel which is currently playing anything i play on my keyboard. still nothing, abysnth isnt even recieving any input.
 
bump, does anyone know? i got this 400 page guide but it doesnt mention how to get directx stuff like abysnth to work with a keyboard through cubase.

hey man..

brand new here...here is my suggestion to try.

I use Nuendo..which is similar to Cubase.

Load your VST instrument.

Create a midi track.

Make sure your MIDI imput is set for your keyboard controller.

Make sure your MIDI output is set for Absynth.

That should do the trick.

thanks for the help but that suggestion doesnt really work in cubase.

The problem lies in the fact that the only way i can use directx stuff like absynth is in an FX channel, whereas ive only gotten my piano to work through a midi channel. I guess what im asking is how do i get my piano to work through an FX channel? Is their any way to send the note data from a midi channel to a FX channel, if so, how, cause i dont see it in any of the midi channel options.
 
i use absynth 3 with cubase sx3 and i use it as a VST instrument with no problems, i think that you should re-install absynth and use the correct VST folder...
 
I don't understand how a VST could work in an effect slot. Sorry I couldn't help.
