Hi all, I'm using Sonar3. I am trying to bounce a DXi track to audio, but I am having trouble doing this so only the part I want bounces and it does not render the track for the whole length of the project.

For instance, I'll have maybe a short intro 8 measures long. I solo both the audio and midi track for the DXi and highlight the 8 measures I want to bounce. When I hit "bounce to track" I get an error message saying something to the effect of "There is no audio selcted to bounce."

However, if I do the same thing, but don't highlight the 8 measures, I can bounce fine, but it renders the track for the whole length of the project and not just the 8 measures I wanted. This makes rendering very time consuming.

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Any ideas? Thanks.

It sounds like you're probably not including the audio track that the DXi is patched to.

For the bounce to work, both the midi track and the audio track with the DXi must be included in the selection.

See, that's what I thought I was doing. I have both the audio and MIDI tracks soloed and then I drag across the timeline the area I want to render. Is there another way to do this? The manual is kind of vague concerning this.

When you drag across the timeline, do you see both the Tracks highlighted? I find I need to Ctrl & Left Click on the second track to get both of them highlighted.

I assume it will also work if you have ALL tracks highlighted, but just the two soloed. I'm not at my DAW now to try it out.

That may be what I'm doing wrong. I'll check it out tonight and see. Thanks dachay.
