Ableton's Core Library is installed but is missing in the browser

Hi everyone,
Today I reinstalled Ableton and the bar that shows the installation of "Core Library" was there and no errors popped up on my screen. There is not a single thing in "Sounds, Drums, Instruments, etc." in the browser but the files are in "C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 11 Lite\Resources\Core Library". Also I've reset Live's Database and I authorized my license a couple of times in case that was the issue but nothing changed. Has anyone had this problem?

It sounds like you really should be looking on the Abelton forum as you are having a lot of core issues. Example, you may have to reinstall of the the libraries since you uninstalled the base software, it all has to be rebuilt. Find all of the library packages and reinstall. It will overwrite the files so don't worry about duplicates, but all of the paths has to be rebuilt I am pretty sure.

The files from the "Core Library" are in the folder they are supposed to be. Is there something I can do to insert them? Can I download "Core Library" from Ableton's site?

Right, the files are there, but I am pretty sure you have to rebuild everything since you reinstalled. For the Ableton core, it isn't just the files, there are parts to control the sound.

If you still have your disks, or the install program, make sure you have checked the library boxes. Ableton allows you to select. But go back to the install program and make sure you have everything you need as selected to install. Don't just install the base program.

Ok, I'll try, thank you

I was looking at Ableton and there is the core library, which sorts them into categories, then the plugins, VST2 (or just VST) and VST3. If you don't see that, then you have something up with the install. I have my VSTs and VST3s in separate folders. Just make sure on the plugins that you have 64bit and if they are VST3, I suggest put them in another folder. Then you point your plugin folders to VSTs, then there is another path for VST3s, just make sure the VSTs are 64bit or they will not get picked up.

I have never tried it, but I am guessing the VST3s need their own folder. I am thinking that since it has two different folder paths. There might be a different reason, but I just put the VST3s in their own spot.

Hopefully that will get you going in the right direction. Ableton does well, for the most part, but it is its own animal.
