Hey so I have about $300 i want to spend but cannot decide whether to upgrade to Ableton Suite or purchase Reason 5. I already have Ableton 8 and run loops off of it live. I just want more sounds and flexibility when making loops. Anyone with experience in these, I would love some feedback and advice. I mainly would use it for production in the studio and live loops.
Thanks

I would add reason to my arsenal...I never felt the need (or had the cash) to get suite...i got sampler on a deal with 8 but nothing else really interested me (sampler is totly indispensable)

Ive been looking at Reason 5 since it came out...but i just bought Logic so it wont be purchased yet..

Kong and Thor are worth the price alone, and the workflow seems like it will be good with the new blocks arrangement view

I havent really demoed it in-depth, as I know i will buy it, so Im nowhere near up to speed but it did seem pretty easy

I have both Ableton suite and Reason 5. But if you are looking to get one or the other and already have Ableton 8, then I would say get Reason. you can run that through re-wire to get more instrument sounds.

Im going to get Reason 5 next month....if i buy it in December the wife will make me count it as an xmas pressy, no chance lol

I have a load of Refills I bought in Thailand would you believe...all legit of course :) well they have printed sleeves

:laughings: yeap, black market can be pretty sweet, i guess. I heard reason 5 is amazing I was reading about it in comp music mag.

rewiring reason to ableton

Apparently makes for one monterous set up! powerful, I have yet ot explore the advantages of rewiring with Ablton live, but it would appear very powerful, I have ablton live 8, record reason 5 , and cubase.... I think I will use Record with Live 8 and go from there. I hope I can still use komplete 6, record, and maschine.
