I've recently reinstalled Ableton and now when I try to scan for plugins, the little circle next to "Rescan" is spinning forever and nothing shows up in the "Plug-ins" menu in Ableton. I've selected custom folders for the VST2 and VST3 plugins and the files are there but are not recognized by Ableton. I only have 2 plugins at the moment and this shouldn't be a problem but I need help. The 2 plugins (Arturia Analog Lab V and TDR Nova) are in folders in "Program files" not in "Program files (x86)". Also when I'm scanning the folders, in the bottom left corner of Ableton says "Scanning plug-ins" but the names of the scanned plugins are not shown. I've also tried to put the plugins in the default folders for VST2 and VST3 plugins but that didn't do anything. I authorized my license a couple of times but I don't think that this is the issue. Could there be a problem with the plugins or Ableton itself or am I doing something wrong?

If you are on 64bit version, you have to have 64bit plugins. Ableton won't convert. I just remembered that after reading your re-post. Double check that you have 64bit plugins.

I'm on a 64 bit Winows and I think that the two plugins I have are installed in both 32 and 64 bit versions. Have you encountered something like this before?

Yes, I have had Ableton for a long time and when I switched to 64bit version, I lost all of my plugins. I had to make sure I had 64bit and that my folder was pointing to the 64bit version. Usually if they are installed by a program, they put them in two different folders. But 32bit will not get picked up by the 64bit program. Reaper DAW on the other hand has a converter built in, Ableton does not. Double check to make sure Ableton is pointing to the 64bit folder.
