Quick question for you folks. I'm running a P4 2.66ghz w/ XP (all intel chipsets), and I'm looking to upgrade my soundcard. I'll be using Cakewalk HomeStudio 2k4XL, and I'm just getting started in HomeRec (mostly synths, some guitar/vocals/acoustic instruments).

My question is, which of the above cards, if any, will provide the best sound and most trouble free operation. I realize that the Delta 44 lacks digital I/O, but I don't really care (yet). I am, however looking for a card that I won't have to replace as my experience grows.

Thanks, in advance, for your thoughts.

Tom

I used the delta 44 on my Pentium III running windows 98. It wasn't bad at all. It was simple to use.

If sound quality is what is most important to you, Aardvark is top of the line.

Cool -- Thanks for the info.

I take it that there are no prob's with Aardvark's proprietary (not quite WDM) drivers?

Well, no, but it's pretty good. :D

RME, Lucid, Lynx, or Apogee would be a little higher up the food chain.
