I just bought an aardvark Q10 sound card for my Nuendo system...has anyone heard about these or used them ? How are they?

Most ask these questions before they purchase,... but anyhow.

The only aardvark products I've used is the Aark 20/20 which was the previous model. It was a good unit, I think I liked the converters in it better than the Delta 1010. The main complaints I hear about the aardvark units is a lack of Windows 2000/XP drivers (or lack of ones that work properly).

The best way to hear how it sounds is to try it for yourself.

In the April EQ mag reviewed this. Said it was a great unit that give truely pro results. I think you can go to EQ.com and read the review on line.

the Q10 is the big brother of my card, the DP 24/96. i LOVE the DP 24/96. my only complaint is they still dont have an official working XP/2000 driver yet. they swear its on the way VERY soon. all the songs on my page were recorded through my DP24/96.

I'm using a Q10 and I like it very much....the features and versatility were just what I was looking for....now if they would just come out with XP drivers everything would be great!

Hey chuck
Great songs - all of them. Very nice!

That woman's voice ... oh my gosh! BEAUTIFUL.

He means drivers for Windows 2000 and XP.

You can only use this card with older OS's like 98 which really sucks since 2000 and XP make use of WDM drivers which give you much better perfomance as far as multitrack audio recording goes.

yes chuck,

I had a listen. Very polished mixes

I liked "louder than you" and "when I'm with you"

louder sounds like its ready for top 40

 Very nice!!

Hey Chuck,

Nice stuff!

I too use CWP9, ACID Pro, and the Aardvark 24/96. I've always thought it sounded good and it's nice to hear such a fine confirmation.

Where are you located?

Good luck!

I feel the need to compliment once more ...

Man, I can't get "little things" out of my ear. In Germany we'd call that an earworm - great guitar lick.

im speechless! :o you guys are 2 nice. thank you very much.

gascap- im located in nashville, tn

thanks again,

HA!

Somehow I KNEW you were in Nashville. We just moved back to K.C. from Nashville (I grew up here) I miss the music scene MUCH. Dang. It would've been fun for a possible get together. Have you had any success plugging your stuff? I knowthere are plenty there, but I'd be happy to add a fiddle track...e-track, I guess.

I scored an indy film while I lived there. The real-audio ain't great on the web, but you can get a basic idea at:
www.cdbaby.com/athey
if you want.

Best of luck!

gascap,
thats great stuff. why did you leave tha 'ville? your playing is very nice. what were you trying to do here? what kind of recording setup do you have?
again, i enjoyed your site.

Thanks, Chuck.

I grew up in K.C. and have family/roots here - after we started having kids, a relocate began making the most sense. Still, the move back was a really tough call.

I have Cake Pro9, Acid Pro, SF 5, and the Ark 24/96...although, the cd on the web site was actually pre-aark and was done with a cheap-o SB card. I'm getting a bit excited about the new XP driver that I 'm seeing good early reports on. We'll see.

I hope to do more film stuff, and have actually written some traditional country stuff that is now being pitched in Music City - actually a bit ironic now that I'm gone. I hope to make it back for a gig now and then (classical quartet work was very good there and I still get calls, HA!)

Take care!
