does anyone know how to eliminate this digital high end fizz i am getting when i record my guitar amps.mesa dual recto and marshall jcm 900. i am using nuendo through two aardvark q 10 `s with an sm57 on the top speaker and a senheiser e-609 for the bottom both close miced.?

first things first

your "eq"ing should be messed with a tad...I've noticed i dont need as much drive or distortion on a recording as i use live....also turn down your amp or recording volume...this should also help. sometimes checking the compression is also something that would help. maybe a little too much highs or mids could cause that too

Two q10's with nuendo eh? That sounds pretty killer. I've got 2 of the q10's and run them with Cubase SX for right now, works pretty good if you ask me, but nuendo is the goal eventualy. As for your problem I'd recomend checking the gain on the aardvarks cause those amps are pretty loud if you crank em. Running any outboard compressors or anything?

Sounds like you're running steady in the red of your input meter on the Q10 onscreen console panel. Make sure your Q10 preamp (console panel) is set on L1 or no more than M1.

This may sound stupid but if you're running your guitar amps really hard you could be getting the "fizz" from the cloth or metal speaker grill since you are close mic'ing. Remove the speaker grill if possible and try again.
