I have had nothing but good experiences with my Aardvark Direct Pro 24/96. I got a great deal on a used unit on Ebay and its been great for me. Four mic inputs w/ preamps and phantom power... software mixer.

I havent been able to record a ton of stuff since my computer needs to be upgraded but I've been very impressed by the quality of the recordings I've been gettin through it.

Obviously the Audiophile 2469 is cheaper...

I sold an Aardvark 24/96 on Ebay two summers ago Photoresistor was that you?

I think the DirectPro24/96 is a very nice, clean unit.

you know...

I think I may just go with the Delta 44... it has the right number of inputs and is cheaper... and M-Audio cards are better recommended around here than Aardvark.

It seems that the Aardvark is a good unit...but ther is also the Edirol one (8x8) and of course an M-Audio unit that has not convinced me.

Though there is one that ST Audio offers for 450$ and has more features than the Digi 001.

...i'm still fu**ing deciding on these...

I don't know that much about the Delta 44 but from just looking at some specs I see that it does not have XLR inputs. The Aardvark accepts both XLR and 1/4" inputs. I don't know about you but I dont want to buy 4 XLR to 1/4" adapters or cords...

Lorddiagram: No that wasn't me, I bought mine just recently. Look and wait around on Ebay. I purchased my Aardvark for around $250 used. Thats pretty dang close to what the 44 goes for i believe.

If you want to know of some recordings done by the aardvark, search for it in the mp3 mxing clinic. keep in mind though, a lot of the sound has to do with the mics used and how they tracked the sounds, how they mix/mastered it, etc.

EDIT: if you look around here you'll find a lot of positive feedback on the
Aardvark Direct Pro Q10 which is basically the same thing as the 24/96 but it has an extra 4 inputs. They use the same pre-amps and connectors and sound card.
