I'm back. Everything was going great. Recording up a storm. Virus wiped out my system, was able to save music files but can't remember WHAT THE HELL y'all told me about HOW to get all these components working together. SOMEONE gave me a wonderful laundry list of what to have checked and unchecked in the Project and Audio menus in Cakewalk, and some other LOVELY user provided me with the same type of laundry list for the Global Edit Mode settings on the Alesis and it all worked quite well. Please HELP. I'm ready to Rock n' Roll again. I've been down 2 weeks. GOING BONKERS!!! So far. Cakewalk works, and my keyboard is SENDING MIDI data to Cakewalk, as my songs play, however...the music is PLAYING through my COMPUTER SPEAKERS, rather than through my monitors which are hooked up to the Aardvark. UG! HEEEELLLPPPP!!!!
