A video question--MPEG to DVD?

I know this is an audio forum for the most part. But can someone recommend a free utility (or method) to burn a DVD from and MPEG (The MPEG was made of a live open mic performance, with a Hi8 analog video camera.) Nero has asked me to buy a plug-in to do it.

I have the latest Nero... it doesn't need a plug-in.......

I guess I can downlaod the latest for $69, or download an upgrade for $49, or buy the plug-in for $25.

But what about the free part of my question? IOW, is there a free utility or package that takes MPEG to DVD?
 
When I bought a DVD-writer, it came bundled with something called MyDVD, which although basic, works well enough and burns DVDs from MPEGs...

Don't know if it's available free or not, but even so it can't be too expensive since it's so bare-bones!
