Late-blooming songwriter!
Today, April 12, is our 29th wedding anniversary. To honour my wife, I wrote this song for her a couple months back. Today would be an appropriate day to post it
She calls me her rock/pillow, so I made sure I incorporated it into the song.
I usually double my voice because I'm not very fond of it
This time it's just a single voice, not sure what I think of it, but it does make the song more personal for my wife.
Listen through headphones, the electric piano and bongos really add to the stereo image.
Thanks for listening.
WALK THROUGH FIRE <== Click title
For the times, you feel like no-one's there
The times, you wonder if they care
Well you know, there's always just one soul
To lean on, if you feel out of control
I'm your rock, solid as can be
I will stand, you can depend on me
I'm your pillow, soft upon your bed
A place to rest your weary head
[CHORUS]
I'd walk through fire for you
Through barbed wire for you
I'd be a liar for you
I'd walk through fire
I'd do a crime for you
Write a rhyme for you
To spend more time with you
I'd walk through fire
There's a place, just you and I know
A place that's sheltered from the snow
And you know, that when the times get tough
If you feel, your best ain't good enough
I'm your rock, solid as can be
I will stand, you have my guarantee
I'm your pillow, soft upon your bed
A place to rest your weary head
