A short clip of some instrumental wierdness

So I've been working on some sort of metal / progressive instrumental stuff.
So far I've just got a few 30 second or 1 minute pieces of music that I have yet to string together. I thought I would post one of the clips that I'm pretty fond of and maybe get some opinions on the music.
Of course it's just a rough recording now, once I get the rest of the song pieced together I'll be polishing things up.


 
this is metal i can actually stand. its not overly repeated and stock. the rhythm is what does it. not the drums, not the guitar...just the rhythm as a whole

very nice playing.
 
Pretty cool man....reminds me a bit of Macalpine, or Vinnie Moore...sort of has a jazzy vibe at times.

reminds me a lot of Dream Theater and John Petrucci style a bit.
If you said it was a DT clip -- I would have believed it.
Keep up the good work and do post a completed version.
