I wont comment on the recording cuz I agree with whats already been said...

But the song kicks ass, I like it alot...

The chorus definitely sounds like Rik Emmett of Triumph singing, I'm a big Triumph fan.....

Great song man.....

Thanks I have never heard of Triumph. . . I'll have to give them a listen sometime.

robby-

i totally understand what you mean about the song being bass driven. The sound of the bass is a little too pick driven/farty for my taste so my brain was saying, "Push it back a little under the guitars" lol. Don't get me wrong though, its good playing. I also see that you are now going to retrack it with a different setup, so that may fix my complaint. Im a guitar player also, so im destined to want loud guitars.
Im not all savy with EQ (i just turn knobs) so I can't really offer much help on the kick situation. I understand that you don't want alot of click but i know that there are plenty of records where theres a big non clicky kick sound, that cuts through alot better. Your kick isn't coming through as well as i would like to hear it. You may want to experiment some more with it. If your happy with it though, don't worry about it.
Thanks for the comments on "A narration Of" . Ive never really listened to King diamond but i know what your talking about. Where are you planning on getting the album mastered? Just out of curiousity.
oh yeah, im listening on computer speakers but they are a better quality set. Stuff usually sounds pretty good on them.

I think you could add a little meat on the bass and still not mess up the kick tone, which I really like... by the way. The kit is just a little to loud for me except for the toms and cymbals. Vocals could lift a little. One kickin ass tune guy....big..

Pretty good song - I sort of liked it. I liked the little bass riff. That was cool. Singer has a real strong voice.

I'd like to hear a "fuller" bass sound. It had a nice, defined attack, but needed more... well... more bass to it. It needed more low end I thought.

The guitars tend to dominate the other instruments (except the snare of course :)). Something about the tone on the rhythm guit could be better. But I can't express what that is. Maybe a little brightness (high end)?

A pop at :58.

Harmonies in the chorus would be cool. Double tracked vocals might work well on this one.

First, I am gonna agree with Trip on all of the above.

I am not gig fan of the style but I think it is a pretty solid song. You have all the elements of a good start.

I think some EQ and some level adjustments just need to happen now. Some better separation of instruments as I believe others have touched on.

I hear distortion/a crackle on the bass at :12. Just an FYI as I know you are re-tracking.

Good start. Let's hear this baby cleaned up all nice and perty. :p

There are harmonies in the chorus, but our guitar player is in Sweden then going to Italy so he won't be back for another 10 days or so. He sings the back-up vocals.

After that we will do harmonies on the chorus 2nd and 3rd time through and retrack bass. I found out I had one of my bass drum mics tracks polarity reversed on accident so that has really helped clear up the kick. I mic'ed the bass drum with a mic inside and a U87 a few feet out.

I also have added a little more sheen to the overheads and pu a little compression on them.

Once again thanks for all the tips,
Beez

I like it, but it could use some variation

perhaps do the opening more ballad style up to .48 in the song--then cut loose. You covered the short comings on the recording.

Drums are way too loud. Aside from that the mix sounds pretty good. Nice bass tone.

Cool lead :)

The tune itself Rawks, Man. Great Vox and the Guitars sound really decent. The Bass and snare issues have been covered...

Keep rockin, Dude!
