...both by the same band: mine :)

Trails Of Error: our 'hitsingle', based on Led Zep, Audioslave-stuff.
Blind Mind: the dynamic, emotional, long rockballad.

And now: your opinion Please..

I'm curious!

Thanks a whole fcking lot for listening,
Maarten.

F_cksia-I listened to the lo-fi because im on dialup. Its hard to tell on the lo-fi and on my computer speakers but the mix sounded good. I could hear everything clearly. The guitars sounded a little small but it may just be what im listening on.
To be honest with you Zeppelin and Audioslave probably would not have even crossed my mind while listening to this song.
I didn't care for the singer that much but thats just me. Sounds like good musicianship overall. Nice work

What mic/pre/compressor combo did you use on the vocals? I really like the way it turned out, and I'll soon be working with a singer who's similar in style.

"Sounds like good musicianship" to me too. The group that came to mind when I heard the first couple of words "RUSH" then after a few words I was not sure "orginal voice".

I like this. I like that heavy riff when it comes in. I think the vox could maybe come up a bit in some spots, namely the verses. The guitars are blaring (good blaring) and she's kind back there somewhere.

Are the guitars direct? They sound sort of direct, but maybe it's all the chorus. I like the bass, and the drums sound good. It's very hot though. Was it mastered? It's very powerfull in spots.

Hi there, thanks for the replies so far.

-Wireneck: Thanks, I agree about the guitars sounding a little thin sometimes but that´s mostly for letting some space to the keyboardparts.

-Doink: It´s an NT1 from just 10 cm from the singer going through the Yamaha MR1642 mixer inputs, send out to the Terratec EWS 88 MT on 24bits.

-rdozz: Yeah, hard to place it is indeed, but Rush is indeed one of the biggest influences of the guitarist and the keyboardplayer (I guess).

-Daenn: No the guitars were all Les Paul through his fake-vintage Peavy tube-amp, miced with 2 sm57´s and 1 57beta on different spots.
Yeah I tried to master it, though I haven´t got any real mastering facilities, just my own ears. Glad you liked the most of it.

I like the first song I listened to, but the vocals seemed a bit too low. At times the guitar seemed quite a bit louder than the vocals (like in the intro). Maybe this is just my speakers, but I've never noticed a problem with them before.

As a song though, it ROCKS. The vox remind me of Queen personally (and that's a good thing, in my book).
