So this one of six songs that my high school band recorded about 25 years ago at this dudes home studio. What I remember is that we set up next to his indoor pool and pretty much did everything live and tracked it to an 8 channel fostex reel to reel, then went back and dubbed in vocals after bouncing some stuff down....I think?

Anyway we thought all the copys we lost but thank god one turned up , the cassette was duped from a original but the sound quality was not good. I dumped the songs into my DAW{reaper} and tweaked it and here's what i have so far.

Obviousy we wrote these songs when we were 16 years old and they are maybe kinda cheesy ,but Im still very proud of them and I still love the lead part of this song.

Any tips or comments are welcome!

Thanks!

You mean the link you provided was done with 8 tracks?...If so WOW!

dreib - you bunch of crazy rock gods :-) You said you were 16, or 16 when you wrote it? Anyway - pretty cool. Don't let gerg hear those pinch harmonics though or there is gonna be a brawl - hahaha. After hearing this it does sound to me as if some sort of dolby/dbx/whatever was used on the mixdown cause I do hear pumping.

I like the song dude. Good singing, especially for a 16 year old ;)

Yea 16, what a trip huh?

Jesus I remeber when they figured out how to do those pinch harmonics, it was the coolest thing ever.
Bring it on gerg!

Im still working on my mastering process......Thanks!!

Weird...we never really cared for the singing! I'll pass that on to the vocalist, were all still friends!
