a quick short question

i need to buy a new sound card..

right now i have a SB PCI512

I was thinking about audiophile, wich has RCAs..

So.. does that mean i can't plug my computer speakers with 1/8" plugs?..

so.. i need a new moniter or sompin?..

i'm a newbie so if i'm misunderstanding anything plz correct me..

There are these things called adapters...

...but computer speakers make terrible monitors for any serious recording. I guess they are better than nothing, and while you learn your way around the tools they will probably suffice.

not really ideal- but, you can run both cards at the same time- keep your little puter speakers hooked up to the sb, and record from the audiophile- some people have trouble with this though- they say that soundblaster stuff doesnt play nice with other cards- never had a prob with it, but who knows- if your serious about this though- monitors are a MUST. Computer speakers are terribly inaccurate
