The song 'hard lovin' was done with one Sm57 for both amps...the song cool song was done with a sansamp DI for bass, one overhead vocal mic for drumset and sm57 close to the amp. as you can tell, we're a novice effort, but i thought maybe youd be interested in the audio.. I was very very happy with the DI box and considering that was ONE mic on my set..

NO COMMENTS ON THE VOCALIST PLEASE! LOL

what do you think?

Sounds like good fun for a jam band, and is a good start to a song,...

but it's definitely lofi. [Hard Lovin]. The bass & drums have a nice full sound, but could benefit from some treble boost. It's not whether the guitar sound is good or not, but it's not sitting forward enough in the mix. I think the mic-guitar sound is acceptable, but needs to be louder in the mix. Overall, it's lofi [IMO], but otherwise sounds like a fun little jam clip that could be developed. Live music & live recording is fun, & fun to listen to.;)

[Cool Song]

You definitely got the guitar sound more forward with the DI recording. This DI guitar sound you're getting does sound better than the mic-guitar sound you got on the previous clip. Mix overall is better,... and did you get the 'snap' up on the drums on this recording? Drums/bass somehow sounds better than on the Hard Lovin clip, and definitely the guitar sound is better too.;)

Hey, thanks for being interested/supportive! Well, hard lovin was done with only 1 mic on both amps (what can I say, im a 15 year old on a budget) but when my bassist got a DI box, I could move the SM57 to the guitar amp alone and DI the bass. The only thing lacking is my set (im drummer), but that should be fixed when my new mics/mixers come in

beta 52
3 Sm57s
2 marshall 603 overheads..

and I have a behringer MX2004A mixer thats unused now..this should do the trick

That hard lovin is a catchy tune, isnt it

Dude sounds like some of my old high school band stuff.

The guitar tone kinda sounds like Cake, which is a complement. My guitar tone at that tender age and experience level was just noise.

Lofi is the way to be when you're 15, just try to practice alot, play out as much as ya can, and try not to kill your bandmates!!

I wish I had microphones and mixers and shit when I was 15. We just used are drummers boombox, put it on the other side of the room and hit record to make our "Demo Tape."

Keep jamming and you'll all get better at it!!!

Rock on!

Dave Lombardo was Slayer's drummer, right? You're not the same, I presume? :)

Bass is pretty distorted and there are some timing issues but that will all take care of itself with time. Sounds like ya'll are having fun when you're not fighting.
My suggestion? More fun....less fighting. ;)
