This is my first post on here. Recently I've been working with a local pop-punk band, nothing too special, pretty run-of-the-mill, but I just thought I'd put one of my early mixes up on here to see what everyone thinks. The main problem with it is that the volume is far too low...I do have a supplementary question regarding that, for anyone who is familiar with SoundForge which is what I mix-down to. But first off, just give it a listen if you wouldn't mind, and tell me what you think.

i won't get too picky since this is one of your initial mixes. The drums sound like they are overpowering the guitars and bass a little. I would like to hear them a little more up front. Were the drums triggered? If not they sound pretty clean tracking wise. The cymbals sounded a little low compared to everything else.
Definantly not my style of music but sounds like a good start on the production end of things. I would beat my head against a wall if i had to record more than a track or two with this band lol.

Huh?! To me, they're overpowering everything, especially the highhat! Maybe it's my speakers. Guitars could come up a hair.

I could see myself dancing to this band...if I were extremely wasted. :D

I must concur with Chris about the hi-hat. Seems a bit high compared to the other drums.

At about 1:50, the whole mix seems to get quieter, i'm not sure what's going on there. Maybe i'm going crazy.

I think the guitars need to be brought up quite a bit, and possibly EQ'd differently -- they're blending in with the bass a bit too much.

You have some good sounds going on here, i'd just mix them a bit differently. The first thing I would work on is definately the guitars.

Thanks for posting, and welcome to the BBS!
