A problem with 1010 that I can't solve

So here's one I can't find an answer for. I have a delta 1010 everything is fine, except when it comes to overdub monitoring. I do not have a mixer yet (saving up for an M12) so I'm using an external pre-amp into 1+2 and have output 1+2 going to my Hafler amp (I'm using this for headphone out also). I'm using Cubase VST w/ the ASIO drivers, when I try to overdub I can hear the recorded tracks fine, however, the input tracks are only playing through one side. How can I solve this?

EDIT: Hmm, it's allways good to type stuff out. Does it have something to do with the way I'm using the monitor control panel? Man, I feel dumb now.

Make sure all the levels are set to 0 on the M-audio Control panel thing, and make sure outputs 1 & 2 are set to monitor mixer.

Yes, this is true. However if I have monitor set to out 1+2, input 1 is only one channel and it comes out on channel 1. Therefore it can only be heard on the the left side.

Hey man, don't know where you're getting your m12 but you can get one from full compass for $590.

That's the normal behavior.

However, in the M-Audio mixer, under each input you should see a little pan slider. Thus you can set the pan slider for input #1 (the left side of H/W In 1/2) to center to hear what you're recording out of both monitors.
