Hi,

Im turning some of my old casettes into digital recordings. The problem is I have to sit and wait for 45 mins for a tape to finish and then save it, otherwise it runs and runs and hey presto my hard drive is full and it crashes. I would like to do this after I've gone to bed for the night. Does anyone know of any software that allows me to auto-save a file before 45mins or so of recording, hence I can auto shutdown my machine and have the file saved in the morning?

All comments gratefully received.

Pete

There's a way!

If that link doesn't work, do a search for "Dialog Answer". It's a little program that you can use to automatically send key-strokes to any window you want. In your situation, you can create a .bat file to sleep for 45 minutes, and then send the appropriate key-stroke to stop the recording and then save it (based on whatever audio software tool you're using).
We use this on the system I work on at my day job, and it's pretty nifty. Good luck!
