before any more posts....check the date this thread was started

Yeah, good time to update it with Digi coming out with M Powered. ;)

I'm learning PT LE on a Digi002 and a Music XPC S2. PT LE runs fine in Windows XP. XP home is better than XP Pro, 'cause you don't have all that networking bullshit to mess with your nice music files. I'm no geek, but Alchemist, where on Earth did you get the idea that windows 2000 was a stable platform for running anything, especially Pro Tools? OK, it *was* better than ME, but that's not saying much. The days when you needed a Mac to run PT are gone, but you do need a fairly kickass PC. The music XPC was kind of the high priced spread, but it showed up configured to work with 002, and already silenced. The savings in DIY pain-in-ass were worth the dineros to me.-Richie

I started using pro-tools a a few days ago after the many years with N-Track(rip).

Reason I switched is because it crashes alot. Im using a AMD64 3200+, 2gbs ram, M-Audio 2496 and Delta 44, PT 6.7LE.

Damn, this is an old thread. So old in fact that I'm now up to an 001 on a Sawtooth G4. :D
