Well, it was recorded via Protools, and then Maynard did the vocals on his own protools system at home. I think the sound is very scooped and not actaully that great on quite a few songs. I dont think the overall sound would be hard to imitate, aside from the fact that his guitar sound is huge, really huge and thick, naturally, so you'd need to have a guitar sound that big before you even tried to make it sound that way on tape. After you record everything, try scooping with a medium Q and sweeping the midrange and see if you find it. I'd like to see this stuff on a meter, to see where they sucked the life out at, and I'd proably add 2db or so there to make it sound better.
