.......im lounging around on a Puerta Viarta Beach sippin one of those cool little umbrella drinks, and lookin at the sunrise. Nice song, nice recording...... ....cheers, Mike

I wish I understood Spanish!

This tune has a cool tranquil quality to it. What did you use to get the drum sound?

I liked this song!

Very nice song. I like that chord progression and the melody.

Definitely a wildcard song.

Instead of octavizing the harmony, I think it would sound better if you went with thirds.

Also, the lead vocal sounds a bit dull. Maybe add some more midrange and a tad more highs.

Funk on!

thanks for reviewing.

The lead can sound a bit dull, maybe I overdone the compression. There could be also a bass voice somewhere, to add texture.

Everything but the guitar is midi, and I think the drums are from a Roland XP-30 or one those Kurzweill. But I guess it was the Roland.
The piano is a wav file taken from a Gigapiano and mixed into the song.

That song is just beautiful. I like the dynamic and simple arrangement. I like the transitions from chorus to verse.

As you tracked and mixed it I want to compliment you on respecting the vibe of the artist and keeping that dynamic.

cordura21, what a beautiful song. Your mix impressed me because it made the vocals prominent and out front, not easy to do when they have such a soft, ethereal quality. I liked the keyboard interlude, although the keys could have used a bit of reverb and maybe a touch less low end, but that's just my tastes.
Excellent presentation of the song!

Love the piano. Maybe a bit of reverb (not too much) would of added to the mood of the tune. Very nice.

Nice work, Cordura.
You've come a long way since your first post. :)

pretty chill.. nice tune and it sounds good over here..

Dude,

I could only listen in Lo-Fi. I'm not sure I like the drum sound.

Outside of that, this is VERY nice sounding. Even in Lo-Fi!

in my own language, this means, I really like this tune, and I IMO the recording is super. Keep on keeping on.

I thought the intro drums where ok...with the reverb and all...but maybe out of context with the song. The piano was a nice intro instrument as well. However, when the gtr and singing come in, the entire fidelity of the mix changes(for the better), and it makes the intro seem lack luster in comparision. Possibly more high end on either the drums and/or the piano would solve that problem in my mind...but I am leaning towards a brighter piano sound as the preference. It appears completely differnt in the solo break in the middle...but the guitar is present there, and supplying the needed frequencies....I think...I also think you did a good job recording, otherwise, and the dynamics of the song are very good. Nice 'gong' at the end.

thanks for the comments so far.
These are the kind of songs that are very easy to build, since they say it all from the beginning.
When I heard the piano I instantly though about a school piano, lo fi kind, and the drum is similar to an argentine folk instrument called "bombo", made of wood and cow leather. You hit the side of if along with the leather, and it's very lo-fi also. The vocal arrangement is also in an argentine folk fashion. So it was like a school act after all.
It also made a big difference when I first heard the piano on a midi track with my synth, and then the final version of the gigapiano, which is very rich in tone.
Finally, I am happy that it translated ok, since I mixed it in a Pioneer home stereo (the ones with the 2 cd deck), that sounds like crap!

Thanks and keep the comments coming.
Cheers, Andrés

lovely. muy preciosa.
I think there could have been a little more stereo spread. At some points, the piano overpowers the vocals.

Overall, a very nice recording.

Very moving tune man. Really nice singing. I wouldn't know how to mix this, but it sounds great to me! Great melodies, nice harmony...Excellent song!

This is a gorgeous song and a beautiful recording. Only one comment, the drums in the beginning were a bit too prominent for me, or maybe it's the piano that could come out front a little. The drums level out with everything else with the other instruments and vocals, so I guess it is the piano I'd like to hear a little better. Great job on the vocals, very nice overall :D
