God Bless Everyone!
I have finally been able to find the time, and money, to get full swing into my recording, and songwriting, but I'm just learning how all this digital stuff works. I have an MPC 2000, a Proteus (Keyboard Module), a usb keyboard controller, a small makie mixer, and a computer with a cheap soundcard (Until I get A good One). I need to know how to hook-up my complete system, so that i can record into my computer. The midi connections aren't the problem, but the M-Audio keyboard controller is. It's usb, with one midi port. Before I had a Rolland keyboard that I used as my controller for my proteus, and it had midi in and out ports. There was no need for a USB connection. How do I connect everything now. I haven't picked a recording program yet, but I'm leaning towards Sonar producer, or Neuendo. There's another problem I have, I could never get my MPC 2000 to sync with the recording program. It would never record every track at the same time, there would all be different times. Someone told me to buy a Midi timepiece. Is there any other way to sync my MPC 2000 to recording prgram without a timepiece. I want to really get started recording my own tracks, one by one, without having to dump the whole song as a wave file into recording program. You help is very much needed.
