Hi everyone,
I was wondering what mic's you have been using lately for recording female vocals. I've been really loving the CAD m179 on my voice. I've been running it through my sebatron into safesound for compression, or just through the safesound.
I like it the best for vocals out of all my mics, especially for the lead vocal. Really good for close micn'g, transparent, and doesn't pick up a lot of the room sound (if you are in a bad room, this helps a lot).
I've also heard that it's good for micn'g drum toms.

Sennheiser e 835s x2
AKG c3000

ADK Hamburg
CAD M179
I like the adk Hamburg too, especially for backing vocals, nice for mic'ng acoustic guitar.
The SP b1 is pretty cool too, but I like it better for mic'ng acoustic guitar.
I always use the sm57's up to the grill on my blues jr. amp.
I also like to use the sp b1 as an ambience mic on amps too.
