A monitor problem PLS HELP

My god i dont know what to do ! The case is, a minute ago i was whriting a midi in Pro tools and i decided to play the guitar, so I conneced it to my sound module as every day, usual and then BAMMMM , my Yamaha monitors started to play some terrebly LAUD distortion , the cones started to vibrate with such power. I react fast and try to lower first the guitar volume, it didnt work ( obviously it wasnt from the guitar) then I turn donw the volume of my interface it didnt help , and finally I switched off the monitors from the back ! Now I dont know what to do, can to tell me a method to check the monitors if they are fine? How can I know if there is a damage done? Need help thx !
 
At what level, like do I need to level it up, or if threre is a problem I will notice it at medium level?
 
If they visually look ok, you are probably lucky. As far as testing with an mp3 player, start at no volume then work your way up to about 60% if there is an issue it will be evident far before that...
