When I'm doing a lot of envelope editing, it seems I'm always running into this;
Click on or add a 'node', make an adjustment, put the time-line back a bit to hear the change- now the whole clip or track and all the nodes are highlighted. Now before I can tweak a node again, I have to de-select the track to get back to where I can make the next adjustment.
Not a big deal, but it adds up fast, and slows down the work flow.
The only thing I've found is to retrain myself to re-wind first, then make the node adjustment, which just seems backwards.
:rolleyes:
Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Why is this? Doesen't happen to me...

Maybe I didn't get the problem, but I don't have this problem.

How are you moving the time line back? Are you just clicking the mouse in an earlier section of the same track?

If so, try clicking the mouse using the time ruler or in the Mains window instead. You shouldn't have the problem that way.

In this case I'd be clicking in the time ruler to rewind, and got fooled by being zoomed in.
What is happening is that this is 'selecting' everything on the track between any markers I have up, not the whole clip it turns out.
Clicking the 'go to previous marker' tab doesn't cause 'select', but when working at high zoom, going back one marker would be too far when I just want to get to the left of the screen.
I was looking at the various preference settings and didn't see anything that would change this.
Hmm. Maybe there's a key binding feature that would help. Haven't been there yet.:)

bump...:D
I discovered that it depends on where you click in the Time Ruler. It's actually made up of TWO horizontal strips. Clicking in the top section of the Ruler moves the time line and highlights track(s). Click on the lower 'clear' band just moves the 'now time' without selecting anything.
Much nicer. Problem solv-ed!
:D :D
